Baishakh is the first month of the Bangla year. On the first day of this month, a fair is held in various places of the country. This fair is called 'Baishakhi Mela' in our native language. People of all classes and all religions enjoy the day. It is a very colorful fair observed by the Bengali-speaking people. It is a day of great festivity for the Bengali people. Last year, on the 1st day of Baishakh, we decorated our school premises very nicely with various decorative things: festoons, balloons, and flags of multiple colors. The decoration of the building was done by the volunteers, who were also engaged in maintaining order and discipline at the fair. The children were very happy at the fair and had a lot of fun and excitement. They bought fancy articles and were overjoyed with them. They wore new dresses and enjoyed the fair a great deal.
