A postman is a person who collects and delivers letters, parcels and money orders. He is a very familiar figure in our day-to-day life. He plays a vital role in setting up a good relation with the people.
A postman is employed by postal department. He starts his work from the post office. The post office is the certre of his activities. He opens the mail bag and sorts out letters. Then he starts for his round.
A postman has a different type of dress. He puts on Khaki dress given by the government. Generally it is found in the town. But in the village there is no particular dress. He keeps a bag with him always. There are letters, parcels, and money orders in his bag. He goes from door to door and delivers letters, money orders and parcels etc. He is very much sincere and dutiful. He does not get peace until the delivers the letters, money orders and parcels to proper addressees. People eagerly wait for him though sometimes the brings sad news. When somebody gets good news, he feels happy.
Though a postman serves a noble purpose, he is very often neglected. He is ill paid. He is very often found suffering from hardship. Sometimes, he has to lead a frustrated life. It tremendously affects his family. So, he should be paid well to lead a comfortable life. It is high time we thought seriously about him. He should be given proper opportunities so that he can continue his job smoothly and serve the nation properly.
